New Year’s is Here! Get Healthy with Living Well Healthmaster

Category: Health and Beauty, Kitchen and Cookingadmin @ 4:39 pm

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get healthy and/or lose weight, you might want to take a look at a new product called the Living Well Health Master Emulsifier. I haven’t used it myself, but from the commercials I’ve seen on TV, it seems to work like a very powerful blender, mixer and juicer combined.

Personally, I have made the resolution to get healthy again – I was doing pretty good in the months leading up to my wedding, but as soon as that was over so was my resolve! We postponed our honeymoon until next year, and now I have to start over again. Bathing suit season looms…Drag…..

I love gadgets and kitchen appliances, and because of all the wedding gifts we received, I have almost every one I could possibly desire - BUT I just saw the ad for the Healthmaster and thought it sounded pretty cool. One of the advantages it claims over other appliances is the fact that it uses the vitamin rich peels and skins to extract every nutrient, anti-oxidant (antioxidant?), vitamin, mineral and whatever other healthy stuff is in there that you can possibly get out of a fruit or vegetable. I read some of the testimonials on the site and people who own the Healthmaster seemed to find this an easy way to incorporate more fruits and veggies into their diet, which is good for everyone whether you are trying to lose weight or not – imagine losing weight while enjoying delicious soups, smoothies, salsas, ice creams, yum!

No matter how you feel about the health care debate, I assume (I know that is probably a bad idea, but oh well) that no one is going to argue against the importance of keeping yourself as healthy as possible; in fact, a recent CNN editorial states some of the ways we could help to improve our own health and not have to rely as much on health care in general, government or otherwise. Losing weight and combating obesity is a huge step towards improving one’s health, both physically and mentally.

One of the challenges to maintaining a healthy diet is incorporating all of those fruits and veggies into meals when you have no time or inclination to cook. Enter the Living Well Healthmaster! With the touch of a button you can whip up a veggie puree and add it effortlessly into a soup, pasta sauce, salad dressing or whatever other creative uses you can imagine – it’s a great way to sneak fruits and vegetables into your kids’ food too!

Some of the features that make me more inclined to try the Healthmaster are the 100-year warranty on the motor and the fact that it can pulverize ice in seconds – no blender I have ever had has done that to my satisfaction. It is large enough to handle entire fruits and vegetables, so no need to peel and dice before throwing things in, which is a huge timesaver for me. For some reason, I hate chopping, which makes being a vegetarian kind of a pain – probably why I order too much takeout and now need to lose weight AGAIN! lol

Maybe me and my hubby will get one of these and start a honeymoon weight loss challenge;  it’s not New Year’s yet so I have a few days to get motivated. Is the Living Well Healthmaster in my future? We’ll see…

Purchase through As Seen on TV Blog: If you are interested in trying the Living Well Healthmaster for yourself, it is available in the US and Canada (addt’l shipping) for four payments of $49.99 plus shipping and handling, or a one-time payment of $199.96 plus shipping and handling - this offer is not available in stores. Dreamy Mister Steamy, From Wrinkled Clothes Please Free Me!

Category: Home and Gardenadmin @ 11:34 pm

Can Mister Steamy really harness the wrinkle releasing power of steam in a simple clothes dryer? Imagine never having to iron again! Sounds like a dream right? A dream dreamed on wrinkle-free sheets as smooth as the ones you find in a luxury hotel, no less.

I have never been a fan of ironing. I have never actually even had a full-sized ironing board. I did have one of those mini ones on two inch legs that let you iron about a three-inch square of fabric at a time. Not that I did it often, or well, board or no board. One especially unfortunate incident occurred when I attempted to use my very kind and understanding former roommate’s coffee table as a makeshift ironing board, and left a bleached-out iron-shaped heat stain on the wood, permanently…. Notice I said “former roomate.”

So this leads me to wonder about this Mister Steamie I’ve been seeing on TV commercials. It is a dryer ball that you simply spray with water and toss into the dryer – it heats up as the dryer heats up and activates the steam. It also comes with a bottle of fabric freshener called “Fresh Shot” for when you just need to freshen something up real quick (like when you haven’t had time to do the laundry and realize there is nothing clean to wear to work, for example – not that I have ever had that happen, lol). Seems like it could help save a few days between dry cleaner visits and help save some money there too.

When you think about it, dryers made with built-in steam technology are pretty expensive, so Mister Steamy could help save quite a bit of money if it can bring the wrinkle-releasing power of steam to any household clothes dryer. I think I will be investigating the claims of Mister Steamie one day soon, especially at the low price of only $19.95 plus shipping and handling.

FYI, if you order now you get another Mister Steamy and a bonus bottle of Fresh Shot FREE, just pay extra shipping and handling.

Forearm Forklift Lifting Straps May Save More Than Your Back

Category: Home and Gardenadmin @ 2:56 pm

As I was enjoying the holiday programming on TV last night, I saw a commercial for the Forearm Forklift Lifting Straps and thought back to how this simple product might have saved not only my back but also a loud and embarrassing scene between me and my husband in our front yard.

He came home one day with a huge new desk he had just picked up for $30 at GoodWill. It was in perfect condition, all we had to do was get it into the house, through the kitchen and living room and into his office. Did I mention that it was about six feet long, five feet wide, three feet high, L-shaped (too awkward for a dolly) and weighed a ton? How were we going to lift this heavy piece of furniture?

We slid it out the back of my truck and promptly gauged it all the way down its surface on a hook that stuck out of the bed. So off to a bad start.  Then, I tried to lift my end.  I couldn’t get a grasp on it  – however I tried to hold it, it kept slipping. This went on for a while, me getting more upset, him getting more frazzled and impatient and annoyed, until we finally managed, with a more than a bit of huffing and puffing, to get it as far as the front step – about 6 feet from the car.  I was already exhausted. On the TV, Forearm Forklift enabled two tiny women to effortlessly carry a washing machine.

Picture us now at the front door, with me inside the house, him outside the house, me screaming “I can’t f***ing hold this, put it down,” him screaming “Stop f***ing screaming, what is your problem?” and the distinct possibility that we would be stuck with a giant desk in our front doorway and a reputation in the neighborhood as “those people.” Could an As Seen on TV product save my marriage?

Eventually, we did get the desk into the house to the office, where we went through most of the above again to get it through the door. It was not one of our best days as a couple; I wonder if it would have gone differently if we had only purchased the Forearm Forklift Furniture Moving Lifting Straps?

Forearm Forklift – a great last-minute Christmas Gift Idea!
